Celebrating the river

A FREE family-friendly event with music, canoe trips, making workshops and a chance to find out more about the new riverside sculptures.

The event will take place along the riverside in the Riverside Shopping Centre and will complete the Lab 3-year art and regeneration initiative supported by the Arts Council of Wales through the Ideas: People: Places programme.

Haverfordwest’s Mayor, Councillor Sue Murray will unveil an interpretation panel at 2pm.

Throughout the afternoon:

  • Free drop-in making workshop with Michelle Cain – one of the sculpture fabricators and other local artists
  • Mini canoe trips with Paddlewest
  • Music with Peter Stacey and Rachel Hargrave
  • Riverside walks with Toby Downing’s puppet dog from River of Lights
  • Display in the spacetocreate Riverside studios (Unit 2) telling the story of the sculptures

All welcome. No booking required.

Our Vision

Our vision is that in ten years’ time the ancient port of Haverfordwest will have been re-imagined as a vibrant and distinctive market town, reconnected with its river, in full flow and charged by the creativity of its people.
